View Full Interactive Version Of This Page : Blue Healer Frit Mix Recipes
There has been a request for the Blue Healer Frit recipes. I copied them from the Blue Healer web site (www.bluhealer.com) long ago. The web site has been updated and the frit recipes are no longer there. I contacted Carolyn Driver and received permission to post them here. Thank you Carolyn!

Anyone have pictures of beads made with these frits, to tempt those of us who don't know we need them and HAVE to have them :).
Thanks! Warmly, Marie C
The gaffer site is www.gafferglassusa.com
You may need to call them. This is from their 11-9-06 Newsletter:
"Gaffer 3-7 mm Lampworking Cane is available in 1/4 kilo bundles or sold by the single cane in all our beautiful one of a kind colors. The colors on the Blowing Glass page of transparent and opaques are available in Cane, 4oz Frit Jars and $2.00 Frit Packets. If a full kilo of frit is just to much, the 4oz Jars are perfect for the beginning glass blowing student. The $2.00 frit packets are perfect for the lampworker just wanting to try a particular color or wanting to mix a few colors. You can order Cane, Jars and Packets via email at sales@gafferglassusa.com. We will gladly send you pricing via email or send a catalog in the mail."
Also, OCR has all or most of the Richenbach, Gaffer and Zimmerman frits. However you have to buy a half kilo of each, or a Frit Pack with 2 Tablespoons of each of 10 colors for $42.50 (you choose the 10 colors)
GG Glass carries all of the Blue Healer frit blends and has pictures!

Ok
Olympic Colour no longer has the custom frit packs.....wah!!!
Will check out other sources. I like the idea of being able to mix my own blend or tweek on an existing recipe.

A small warning about the Olympic Color sample pack - the glass comes unmarked & in a big bundle. Some of the colors are very, very difficult to distinguish from one another, especially the darker reactive transparents. I love the glass, but their sample packs aren't great if you're trying to decide what to order.

Here is the Gaffer link to the newsletter;

I tried to order 4 frit pack form Olympic but they are not doing Gaffer packs anymore Just the R &Z.
I emailed Gaffer for pricing and they were very quick with thier response. I am soooo glad I didn't throw out my list of 40 colors I put together.
They are out of some cane colors though...from email today:
We have almost all the colors in cane except G-12, G-25, G-35, G-52, G-55, G-60, G-90, G103, G-110, G-112, G-113, G-181. We are out of some of the Veiled Cane colors but we well be getting them in soon

Speaking of Gaffer, I went to their werehouse with my x-mas money and they were so nice! I met 3 workers there and I can't remember their names, but I got a welcome and a handshake from each of them. I bought tons of single rods and it was a pain for the check out person to ring up each rod, but she did so with a smile. I would recommend them for your gaffer glass. The veiled cane is great and they have some fun combos.
I highly recommend them!

I would love to see more of Bluhealer's recipes.
Love the Tortuga for instance.
Maria Louisa, Do you think Tortuga (tortoise) could be the same as Tortoiseshell? Check out GG Glass (link in post #12) because she has Bluheeler's blends all ready to purchase - or the recipe is in the first post.

Thanks Suzanne, don't know how I could miss that, they seem the same indeed.
I'm going to mix some of these recipes.
