I am having a devil of a time with this color from BE. I get almost NO color out of it at all and it is driving me bonkers. Kalera has some beads posted on her Bridgetown glass that are beautiful:

The top set is wispier and more transparent than the bottom one, but I don't even get that much color out of them. I made two small beads with just the rod and got a slight pink tint but NO streaks at all. I then encased with it over a white base bead and got one little streak of pink. Barely any color at all. Anyone have any tips for working this color?

Someone also gifted me a rod of the oddlot "rose City Marble" and I got a similar result - hardly any color.

Are your rods darker or lighter? My rods are really light, and they don't do much streaking. :) although streaking might be interesting!

I think it's variation within the run. It'll be interesting to see what's reported.

Are you striking it? I have some - I think - but haven't used it yet. But I have used the rose city marble. Let it cool then reintroduce it to the end of the flame.

Use a neutral flame on the oxygenated side - but not too much.

You've probably already tried this but I thought I would mention it.

my rods are very light with hardly any streaks in them.

I did try cooling and reintroducing but didn't get any additional color.

I'll have to try again and see what happens!

It is definetely the batch of rod. Some are very light and some have a lot more color. You will find even within the same batch that there is a lot of color variation. I use that color as a base a lot and have to be careful to only make a set using one rod, otherwise the second rod I pull mostly likely doesn't match. It is not a striking color, not reactive that I have found.
