Does anyone have a tutorial or any ideas on how to make angels or an angel symbol? Any help would be most appreciated! Thanks!

Gosh....it's been a while, but I think I remember how I used to make them. Start with the body.....I make a tear drop shape....then add a round head and put a halo (I use gold filigrana) on the top or a little "off set" is cute! Next it's adding the wings....I start with a large dot on the upper back center...flatten slightly and then use the razor tool to split visually into a right and left side.....then addl ayers to the wings (sort of outline each side with 2-3 layers).....add a couple of arms that rest on her tummy and she looks like hands folded praying. Good luck!

I will try to make the angels. It doesn't sound too hard. If I am successful, I will post some photos.

Hi here are a couple of Angels I made in 2005...just found the photos in my image file here on LE...I made them pretty much the way "Irish Girl" said she did hers, save for I added a face, some hair and a flower...hope this helps and you get some ideas...if I were to make them again, I would do the wings smaller and shorter I think...

I have made a few angels today, but I didn't get a chance to take any pics. Thanks for the photo. That really did help. I think your angels are much better than mine. Hopefully, tomorrow, I'll post.

Thanks,

I'm embarrassed! At first, I was proud of these angels, but I think I have a lot of work to do. Be kind. They are more angelic as symbols than they are as angels.

Yay! Mallory, I likes them. Simple but effective!
I saw this thread yesterday and thought I would have a go at making one too. I have to admit it took ages. Hmm I think once I figure out which feature comes in what order I may find it a little easier.

Emma that's very sweet!

I've made angels before but in two parts. I make a head and add a halo in seed beads later, and the body which is made from a large cone shape which I squash in my mashers (that gives the dress part). I add wings in clear, hands on the front (blobs with divided fingers made with the razor tool), and feet in black. Sometimes I add a frill around the bottom of the dress part.

I don't have a picture of them and didn't make any this year and they're not nearly as cute as the one's above either!
