Howdy! Our house remodel is near-about finished, and yesterday Larry Brickman (Larry rocks!) came over and helped me get my studio put together.

It's very messy right now. I need to get shelves for my glass; a lot of stuff is still in boxes. (Heck, it'll probably stay messy, but not this bad.)

This is the door from the basement hallway, on the north wall (studio is at south end of house).

This is my sink, in the SW corner, with my electroform kit (thanks, Janelle!) and bead cleaner and assorted stuff.
56731

This is the NW corner, with glass piled into it (recently retrieved from our storage unit - I'm thankful not to have a big pile of frit). Between the sink and this corner, I plan to put in a couch and coffee table.
56732

This is the N wall - with more boxes in foreground. This photo shows a truer depiction of the paint color (although still a bit washed out). I'll probably put a station here for fusing.
56733

This is also the N wall, with the door that goes outside. Somewhere over here, I'll be putting the cat pan (oh joy).
56734

And here's the work table! It's stainless steel, from a restaurant supply store. I have a pirrhana and a mini carlisle, with a concentrator for each. The remodel company put the hole in the wall for the propane line; Larry said it should have gone in lower. (Why didn't I see that myself??) I'll be putting something in front of it to guard from hot flying glass. Also will be putting a blank plate over that outlet. The hood is by Glasscraft and just got 2 lights installed in it today - woohoo!! (Oh yeah, all this is on the E wall.)
56735

This is the S wall. I'm going to put in a mini fridge and probably shelves for the glass.
56736

Here's a closer-in shot of the torches. I also got a creation station with leather bean bags; it's sweet.
56737

And last but not least - the propane tank, with the trash can that my husband very nicely tailored to fit over it.

Finally the house feels like a home!!

Wow, how freaking special do you have to be to get Larry Brickman
to come over and help you set up?? That's awesome.

Oh, scuse me...Jim Smircich and Cindy Jenkins are at the door.
As soon as Momka gets here they're going to paint the walls in
my studio....:-o

:) Thanks y'all - and setting up studios is something Larry does for hire, as well as consulting on setting up studios, for a really good rate, IMO. It was so worth it to me to feel safe about how my studio was set up. Plus he's a super nice guy.

congrats barclay you so deserve this wonderful new space. I can see you pulling stringers now...oh thanks for the lesson that one. I do need to see that again..just a ploy to come to your new space when it is up and running. What a fun day to play with Larry and to get your studio safe for your new beadie creations..
cheers. jo

Hi Barclay!

It looks wonderful - I'm especially jealous of the sink area and the vent hood. You didn't have them up yet when I came. Good girl - now to get to work!

If only Larry could set up MY studio (which he will when our walls are done)!

Thanks, Jo, it'll be fun to play. Come over.

Janelle - :) You've gotta come see it too. When are you getting your walls done?

Cool studio!! Are those your frit containers on the back wall of your hood? That is such a cool idea!

Yes, those are frit containers. I saw someone else's studio thread (don't remember which or where) and borrowed that idea. They're magnetic spice containers. They came with a metal easel that has holes so it can be hung on a wall. (If I remember correctly, which is chancy these days, they cost less a year ago than they do now.)

Your studio is fabulous!!!
Look at all that room. WE had my studio almost finished and then found out have to move it due to ventilation issues. #-o Old furnace in basement. Have fun torching. Must be nice.....
