I have an Evenheat Copper Jumior Kiln. It's a small, front loader. I should have looked before posting, but I am not sure if it uses one or two elements. But it's needs a new one (or 2). I have found all kinds of replacement element places online, but none specifically say they are for my kiln. I assume there are generic type elements I sould use as long as they're the right size, but I dont know any of the specs for this kiln, size or electrical, other than it's regular 110... It seems to be a gently used but very old kiln - the label on it looks antique. I bought it at a flea market. I plan to add a temp controller, relay and thermocouple (for far less than I see them sold for together and marketed to kiln users, btw - less than $100). The element is my last hurdle. Hubby wants to make a door in it for me to use as an annealer. I can't batch anneal because what I like to make really needs to get in there right away, I am finding.
I would love to hear anyones experience with putting together their own kiln, or modifying an existing one. I have see Mark's tutorials on making mailbox and another kiln. Both of those are batch annealers, but I am sure they can be modified, too. Just wondering what other people experienced with this, and also if anyone knows for sure where I can get the right element...
thanks, I'm pretty desperate!

Did you look here first....

Here is probably more expensive version of your kiln...

There should be a plate on outside of kiln that gives a model numbers and specifications... Look to see what the amperage or wattage of kiln is... IF you have this number and number of elements, any good element supplier should be able to help you engineer a set of replacement elements... They will ask questions like what is diameter of coils and how long are elements (combined length along all the walls) what is amperage /whatage of kiln, ...

http://www.kickwheel.com/kiln.repair.html
You will probably need to make contact with someone (sales rep) who can walk you though process to repair you kiln.
The can probably even help you with digital controller for kiln..

The tag should say Amps/watts/volts then you need to mesure the element and order one that size stretched plus the amps it says and how big around the element is.
