Does anyone know where I can order some alumina hydrate? We have no ceramic stores in my town. Is there another name for this product? I have checked at the local hardware stores--Home Depot and Menard's--and the people I spoke with had not heard of this product. I'm just wondering if I can find it under another name or product name. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Mallory

Just do an internet search for:

ceramic supply "alumina hydrate" and you'll find all kinds of online distributors. If you add your state, you'll find one closer to you so the shipping will be a little less.

Is this a ceramics place in your area? Give them a call. If they don't carry it, maybe they can order it for you through their supplier. It might be cheaper just to order it yourself, though.

There is a ceramic store in my town. How much do you need? If it's less than a truck load, I probably have enough in my little studio. I'd be willing to mail you some. PM me.
