I want to find a small square of black Lucite and also a white one to use under my beads when I photograph them but I have no idea of where to look for it. Does anyone know what kind of store carries it?

Thanks Darlene. If I can't find anything in town I will order from them. I was hoping that there was a store like Michaels or Home Depot that carried such a thing so I could pick it up where I live but there probably is not such a place. Unfortunately things get so complicated.

I don't know where you are Linda, but on the West coast there is a store called Tap Plastics (http://www.tapplastics.com) that sells acrylic in lots of sizes and colors. Looks like they sell online, too.

I'm in Florida and it looks like Tap Plastics are only on the west coast. Darn! Thank you for the info.

Linda, look in the yellow pages. I don't know where you are, but there are a few plastics places in the Orlando area.

Any company that sells jewelry displays usually has lucite squares. Try Rio? I seem to remember those in their catalog. Also if you look for a supplier of store displays they always carry it. We have Martin Roos in Atlanta.

Why can't you just lay colored paper under the clear plexi to get the color you want?

Try Staples or any stationery store and look for lucite clipboards. You may have to do some searching to find ones that aren't scratched, although sometimes you find them with protective plastic film on them. Then very carefully take the clippy parts off . . . (I've never done this -- I just spotted a bunch when I was in Staples buying software to do my taxes the other day. Might be worth a try, though.)
