Photo editing - purple turning blue

Hello! I was just wondering what type of editing I can do to make these look more purple.

The "blue" beads are actually ink blue-violot and very purple... not blue at all.

Adjusted hue/saturation

Lightened background

adjusted contrast

My camera dosen't like purple either.

What editing program are you using?

Not that I know of. I think lighing would be most important for you if you don't have an editing program and like Camie said I wouldn't use a flash.

When I think about it... I did have the flash on.

adjusting curves is in photoshop

you'll need a tripod to not use a flash unless you have a really nice camera and great lighting. Sometimes I cover my flash with a white piece of fabric if i have decent light but my camera won't take the shot without holding the shutter open forever or using a flash.

See if you camera has a white balance setting, other than automatic and play with that.

Check to see if your camera has a white balance setting for "cloudy" or "shade". That setting bumps the reds and oranges. That would make your blue come out more purple.

Well, I turned off the flash and it's still blue. The blurriness shouldn't be a problem (if I actually attach the camera to the tri-pod) ...

Any other advice on how to get purple instead of blue..

What do you have your aperture set on?

I have a Sony cybert shot and it has manual features but I don't see anything for clouds or shade. I set the white balance by focusing the camera on the space I'll be placing the beads and press "set".
