Hi Everyone!

I'm working on a Hot Head and thought I'd get rid of the small MAPP canisters and upgrade to using a hose set up (From Delphi) and larger tank (?lb.?) - I've got a Creation Station and wondered what type of gas I should be using, where you can purchase it (I live in CA and Home Depot carries various gases including the 1lb. MAPP, and BBQ Propanes) and if the hosed HH is easily attached to the Creation Station set up. Help from anyone would be sincerely appreciated! I'm getting so frustrated with the limitations of the MAPP canisters but don't have room or $ to upgrade to a stronger torch and large canisters of Fuel & Oxy.

Thanks for any advice,
DeAnne

UPDATE!: Thanks to everyone who posted a reply or send a PM; I think I've found my answer - at least regarding the use of a hose with a HH & Creation Station. I found this set up pic. at Blue Moon Glassworks - they are really nice over there and the customer service is top notch! Posting here for those with the same question.

Regards to all,
DeAnne

I doubt if its a #5 (5 pound) its probably a 5 gallon often referred to as a #20 (20 pound)....

Propane will work just fine.... The heat zones are different though... You will probably find that you have to work further out in flame to get the heat and a "clean" bead....

MAPP can usually be purchases in bulk #11 (11 pound) cylinder and many welding gas suppliers... IF not MAPP there is propylene...

Hi Dale:

Thanks for responding to my HH Question; I'm still wondering if the hosed HH can be properly attached to the Creation Station securely - I might just buy the hose and the tank and give it a try! Also, it would be nice if I could have some sort of gauge on the tank to know when it is running low without having to pick it up and shake it - LOL, or just have it peter-out in the middle of making a great bead like the smaller MAPP tanks are so find of doing! Delphi has a Propane Regulator but I don't know if this will serve my purpose. I appreciate you taking the time to write.

Regards from CA,
DeAnne
