I'm out of bead release. What can I use instead? I'm guessing nothing. But maybe someone knows of some everyday household item that you'd never think..... like peanutbutter. Or gravy. Or I don't know. I just want to make some beads!!!

You can use kiln wash I am told.

When I first started lampworking-about 12 years ago-I just couldn't find a lot of beadmaking supply companies so I used kiln wash. It worked fine and I never had a problem. I still have a bag of it, just in case. But it will probably take the same time to get kiln wash as bead release unless you can drive to a ceramic supply store. I agree with Ginny. Take the time to make the time consuming items you wish you had in the middle of beadmaking like twisties, canes, etc. I've started to set aside an afternoon every couple of weeks to just make a stash of those.

Thanks, I made twisties this weekend. I'm not very good at that aspect, so it was a "forced practice".
