Copper wire?

Can you trail copper wire on a bead like you can with fine silver?

You mean, wrap it on the surface, heat and let it ball up in to a little dotted line of sorts? If that is what you mean, I've only ever had it ball up into a black burned little blob...Once it gets hot it turns black, it doesn't stay copper...I wouldn't recommend doing it, as the appearance isn't that great, AND I've been told (now I don't remember where, but I filed it in the "information from a reliable source drawer in my brain"...but they could have been an idiot, for all I know) that fumes from copper can be very hazardous...more so then silver and gold...

Thanks Amy! I've heard that it's toxic also but I know some use the mesh as surface decoration - is that toxic too? I found these gorgeous copper and sterling findings today so now I'm brainstorming beads to match them 8-) .
