I have received a question from a few of my customers and am posting this as an "FYI" for any bead release -

Every bead release, no matter who makes it, should be shaken, stirred or mixed before each use. This will keep the formula consistant. *Be sure the lid is on tight, first.

Every so often you will need to add water- this is true of all brands of bead release.

ALSO - is you have a wonky round bead or 2 to put in the jar when you shake it that will help with the mixing action.

AND - if you store it on it's lid it won't dry out as fast.

One more thing - the longer it has sat around, the more mixing it will need. I know some bead releases appear to remain mixed but if you want consistant dependable results it is still advisable to mix it up.

Maybe Robin doesn't agree with this :) but I have found that with the new release she has that it needs to be thinned a LOT before using it. I would bet that I added more than 1/4 C of water to mine before I got it where I liked it. And then I LOVE it!

Yep, I add a lot of water, too. I love this bead release. I can get those long, skinny, heavily heated and marvered beads off easily. And Robin, THANKYOU for the tall, skinny jar! I dip my mandrels really deep for long skinny beads.

Quick FYI - Kim uses our regular formula.

Thick or thin, we try to get it "just right" but we'd rather ship it a bit thicker than a bit too thin cuz it's easier to thin it out.

But I agree with Debkauz, that thinner works better on the Smooth & Tuff.

Happy torching!!

I use the Smooth & Tuff and use it REALLY really thin. I thin it just about every "mandrel dip session" and shake shake shake. Beads come off the mandrel so easy! And I couldn't agree with Kim more... thank you so much Robin, for the tall skinny jar!! I LOVE this stuff!!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. I need to try the Smooth and Tough I think. Robin, does Frantz have it? I need to drive down there in the next couple of weeks and will pick some up if they have it.

I love the smooth & tuff bead release too. Works great! And I am a two handed turner - the tall skinny jar lets me dip my mandrels deep enough to make beads in the middle!

Thanks Robin!

I also love the new bead release! It's been easy to get vessels and goddesses off the mandrel. Thanks so much, Robin!

Will have to try thinning mine out more. I am not having any success with this bead release at all. It cracks and breaks just like all of the other bead releases I have used in the past.

I love your Smooth N Tuff.....this is the first time in 4 years - after trying everything else on the market that I've been completely "weaned" off of Fusion to work with boro. Good Job!!

I'm sold on the new bead release and I have no need to buy any other now! :D

I had to take about some out of the jar and set it aside in another container so I could add about 1/4 cup of water and some wonky beads to the jar. I love it!! I no longer have to struggle to get beads off mandrels, and when you make 100 beads or so a day, that really matters!

Robin's right about that TIGHT lid! I had an accident several months ago where my lid wasn't secured (aka I didn't get a grip) and got bead release all over the laundry room. Good thing I'd put the laundry away already!!!!
