Oooo, I am so excited... my first baking soda bead

Hi everyone. I had read here a while back that someone was explaining how to make baking soda beads and it sounded really interesting to me...
So, I did it.
Although I didn't remember what type of glass the person was using or if there were any "rules" or "no-no's" I did it anyways....

I cannot believe how cool these look... tiny little bubbles under the surface. I used moretti w/ frit and hope that was a good mix with the baking soda.

Do you think it will crack... maybe yes, maybe no, we will find out. I will post it tomorrow when I post the other stuff I promised...

If anyone remembers where the original baking soda thread was, can you please bump it up or pm me.
And if you are the person that wrote it, can you pm me please... I have questions.

I have to say that since I've been on this forum I've tried things with my beads that I never thought I'd try.

I haven't heard of this. What is it? Can you post a pic of it? How did you do it?

I made a bead and rolled it in baking soda.
Then I burned the hell out of it and it bubbled up under the surface and just looks really cool.
In my post above I did say that I would post a pic tomorrow when I'm near my scanner.

I've tried these once but not in a really long time. Be sure to post your beads so we can see how they look with the frit!

Here it is... my first baking soda beads.
I can't wait to get home from work tonight and experiment with these.

I've been lurking here for awhile now. Finally registered :wave:
Thought I'd post a pic of my first baking soda bead as well.
I used silver leaf beneath it all, but it was a waste of time, haha.
Anyway, this is medium amethyst and trans turquoise, I believe. Silvered clear dots all over, but the point is the BUBBLES, if you can see them. Geez, I'm tired! Forgive my sentence structures right now. :roll:

and for the official record, my bead cracked months later.
Just sitting there, on my jewelry table... one day nice, the next day sitting there cracked.
Oh well, try and try again!
