Hey Y'all,
I'd like to put together a booklet in Word format or something with twistie color combinations. I love twisties but can't always wrap my mind around what colors to combine. So if you would like to contribute that would be great. What I'd like is of course the colors used, but also what coe. I work with all coe's 33, 90, 96, and 104. Also if the twistie reacts great/crappy on a certain color of glass list that too. If you could include pic's of twistie or a bead that you used that combination on, that would be great too. Anyone who want's a copy just e-mail or pm me and I'll send it. You can either post them here or e-mail them to me. My e-mail is kittyluv4ever@comcast.net. Thanks in advance and I hope we can put something great together.
Thanks,
Donna

:) :) You could do what Hayley did and host an exchange for twisties (send twistie and example bead) and get a great booklet that way.

hint.. hint...

I'm on a twistie kick right now and would be happy to add my color combos.
I am such a huge color freak, like most of us I suppose. So it is always, what if I tried this color combo on this base bead.
I only wish I could remember the combo's when they are molten 'cause sometimes I like them better than when they cool.
But I have not figured out how to use my digi camera to upload pics. I just tried using a scanner and that didn't work either :( Are there tutorials for that on LE?
I use COE 104 only, almost all Effetre.
FWIW,
Angela

Hey Angela,
Can you get you pic's onto to your computer? If so then uploading is a breeze. Instead of a quick reply hit "go advanced". Click the "Image Uploader" words just to the right of the screen under all the smiliey's. A new screen will pop up and click the browse button and find your image on your computer. Just make sure it is small enough to upload, the image uploader will let you know if it is too big. If it's too big just resize in any picture editor or you can just e-mail me the pic and I will resize it for you in Adobe Photo Shop and send it back to you. Once you upload a picture you will see a small thumb nail of it and in the last column all you need to do is click the text to add it to your post. Hope this helps and I can't wait to see some pic's.
Thanks,
Donna

Hi Donna, Thanks for the help. Ummmm...I have a lot to learn still. My picture taking skills are only so-so. I'm still learning. Then I have to learn to get them on my computer.

I could not find any picture software installed that will allow me to adjust color, etc. I think if I had something decent I could even use the scanner.
There is supposed to be one called Windows Fax and Image Viewer that may work if I can just find the darn thing! (My computer it fairly new too).
I've always wanted Photo Shop but was told it has a very big learning curve and is not user friendly. Don't know if this it true?
To top it off, I am supposed to get my new torch set-up this weekend!!! Yippee! I'm upgrading from a HH. I will be putting it all together which is always intimidating the first time.
If the torch doesn't arrive I will work on trying to figure out the picture stuff.
At least now I know how to get them on here, once I get them on the 'puter! And if they are too big and I can't crop I will send them to you.
Well that's enough for my brain to deal with, LOL!
Thanks again,
Angela

Windows Fax and Image Viewer will do some basic stuff, but not well. You're best bet is to get your hands on a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements in eBay. If you go for an older version (I think the current is version5) you can pick it up for $20-25. Just make sure to check feedback before buying. Some of those guys selling it have crappy feedback.

Didn't even think about Elements since I have Photo Shop, let me dig around I might have a copy somewhere that I could send you!

I just recieved a large package of the Dane Lady's mixed twisty orphans and shorts. So I have sorted them out into some kind of color combos in a tray. If I find any that I really like as my favorites, I'll let you know.
I think that the Dane Lady would be a great resource for you also.
Where is that business card...?

!!!
That would be awesome. O:)
I just spent this years budget for glass-work already on a used torch and concentrator. When I read the suggestion about buying the software on E-Bay for $25.00, though a good idea, I can't spend another $ until something changes.

I did read that Kandice Seeber uses Paint Shop, so that might be another option. I'm not sure if I have that on here. Gotta check.

I just got my torch in the mail!!! It's a bit grungy and needs some cleaning but I'm hopeful it will work just great!

Good luck with the torch Angela, I was so thrilled when I could move from my HH to my mini cc, so much more versatile.

Thanks Donna, I'm thrilled also! Don't get me wrong. The HH is a great torch.
But I got to try a Mini CC and fell in love. I love the quietness! And the ease of melting the glass so much more quickly. Like you said, it's just more versatile.
Angela :-)
PS: Sorry I side-tracked this thread
PSS: I'm curious about Dane Lady's Twisties and would love to see some pictures.

I also have a bunch of her twisites. I ordered them until I could get a little more nh47roficient at pulling my own, which I now do. I need to get off my butt and take some pics of the ones I have left and also of some of the ones I have pulled. I don't know the exact colors used in the Dane Lady's canes as when I ordered them there were only a couple of them that I want with specific colors the rest I just left up to her. Angela, I found a copy of Photoshop Elements that came bundled with my digital camera that I don't use. If you will PM me your mailing address I will pop it in th mail to you.
