beads made with Moretti green mosaïc petro pastel... at least, that's how my rods are labeled and frankly, I can't do nothing good with this color.
Thanks
Denise
It sounds like you're describing two different colors: mosaic green and petroleum green. If you're having trouble with it, it's probably the mosaic green. it does tend to bleed out onto the other colors and looks a lot more vivid on the bead than it does in rod form. That said, I don't have any advice for you because I don't use this color much. If you have a number on the rod, post it so we can verify the actual color.

Sorry, that's not Moretti, that's Vetro 902

I love this color in small amounts mixed with copper green! This is the vetrofond petroleum green odd lot. I think it was listed as a transparent, dunno. I used a twistie over a base of Lauscha olive. :)
They are gorgeous Lisa... I have petroleum green which is opaque in rod form... that weird color I have is transparent in rod form, opaque once used and it turn reddish if heated too low in my flame, then turn kinda copper... I am trying to get a nice even copper but no luck yet. Will try to take pictures tomorrow.
Thanks

Denise,
I used to have this kinda trouble with the petroleum when I was working on the HH.
This color needs a lot of oxygen.
Work higher in your flame. This way, you'll be able to keep the cooper away from popping on the surface.

Mosaic Green Is a color I worked with for a long time. It's one you have to use in very small amounts as it tends to spread like crazy and bleed a lot.
I think I only have one very old pic saved of a winestopper I made with MG. It is done on a base of Ivory and I made tiny dots with the MG, you can see how it spread and webbed.

might I add one very LARGE pic. brb let me fix that
Here are my pics... Elisabeth, it's not petroleum which I really love. It seems like a mix between both, copper green and petroleum green. Shawn, those beads are gorgeous!

The bead at the far right is the green on which I added dark red...makes me think of bloodstone green. Then, the 3 other beads were made with the same green... not much left on the left one and the small donut which is as copper as a penny.

That rod looks exactly like what I received in a trade-supposed to be mosaic green. The rods are transparent, but when I heat them, they turn opaque. I made a vessel with it, and parts of it are transparent, and parts are opaque.
