I have Corina's "Magic Color Reactions" and it mentions EDP often. What is it?

Evil Devitrifying purple. Moretti 254.

It's a nice colour and has some interesting effects but it does devitrify easily in the flame. - ie give you dull matt patches.

Reheating the bead in the flame will remove the devitrification. Though I seem to be unable to do that with large lentils.

I read on LE here to reheat the EDP to glowing orange and take it out of the heat immediately. That's what I do and it works. Of course getting a large bead to glow orange all over at once can be the tricky part.
I use a minor and I think it would be easier with a fluffier flame, maybe like a mini CC? I find the minor flame to be too concentrated so I have been thinking of buying another torch and hooking them up together and using them at the same time for a wider flame.
I have a lot of trouble with long barrels and bicones just keeping them warm enough.
