I've been threatening to update the charts for a while now. I'm elated to announce that after every conceivable delay, the charts are now updated with new ones. The new selection is of frits from CIM, Double Helix Effetre 83-216, and LBSupplys.

That is terrific! Thanks for taking the time to put all that together!

My TWO favorite things about your charts:
1) you use a HOTHEAD & PROPANE--this is soooo invaluable for all of us who use single-fuel torches! It's so nice to see how stuff is going to look with OUR torch--not with the "expensive set up"--most sellers use the big set ups for their demo-beads, so it's always hard to tell what's going to happen when/if I get the frit home & use it on *my* torch!
2) you show the frits "done right" AND "overcooked"--also invaluable for *beginners* & folks who need PPP, or are just prone to heating the s*** out of their glass for one reason or another ;). If a frit looks good (or even just "ok"!) on both the "white" & the "overcooked" beads on YOUR test pages--I can be pretty much positive I'm not going to have "buyers regret" if I order some!!
(like, I just saw you got some colors out of the Terra frit from DH--so...yeah, now I *want* some of that--even just a little--because I've seen it strike a bit with essentially the set up I have here!--not expecting huge rainbows, but saw you got *some* of the colors I can't seem to get from Raku out of it!)
~luna
totally thrilled you're adding more pages!!
(I've used the old ones a *lot* in the past to "increase my hoard"...'cause you know, having made oh, a couple hundred or so PPP beads, I of course, *need* more frit )

Quick Question--you're looking for Bayou Babes Glassworks frit--they dissappeared from Ebay right after Hurricane Katrina...you dont' happen to know what happened w/them do you?
Off to see if I have samples of anything *else* you need to test for your tester beads--thinking I *just might*

Oh...and just to annoy you to death today...(and give you a panic attack?)
Um...I think you missed IfDesigns (Karin)--who has some ~96 coe frit blends, and...you missed CANDY! www.beadgoodies.com
gorgeous frits! yum...
on your list of "frits you haven't done & still need samples of"....
(hate me yet?)

I noticed the same thing about Bayou Babes and was going to ask if anyone knew what happened to them. I'm going to leave the page I have for them in my frit reference project because you never know. Their frits often show up in the frit exchanges.
Oh, just letting everyone here know that I'll be hosting a frit exchange in a few weeks. So, anyone with frit that I'm looking for, hang onto it till the exchange. That way you'll get a bonus.
Oh, and I LOVE my HotHead and have no desire to change. I'm one of those who takes it as a personal challenge when someone tells me "you can't do that on a HotHead". ;)
All I did to get the color with Terra is.....nothing. I treated it just like all of the other beads I tested - and I like the results on Ivory the best. I think the colors show even more on that one. If I ever get a few moments where I'm not working ofn this project, I'll try Terra on Ivory and then encase it. Maybe when I get home today.

Always looking for frit enablers I may have missed so you're most welcome to mention them here. I DON'T want to leave anyone out so if you know of anyone who I missed or you're a frit merchant yourself, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Kay's frit exchanges *rock*.
I participated in the WC one & then she "loaned" me her rules (I asked! I didn't "copy"!) & gave me tips so I could run a *very sucessful* one over here last year.
Because of Kay's exchange, I got hooked, then I shared w/Nikki & *made* her try frit & so Nikki got hooked on "something she wasn't going to try"
So...Nikki's addiction is all Kay's fault too :D

Can I send the frit bills to Kay, then? :)
And thanks! It's quite addictive stuff. I may have a container from Bayou Babes, lemme check and get back to you with what color it is.

Just to clear up something that may be confusing, the ones listed in blue are the ones I have. The ones listed in cream are the ones I have.
No, you can't send the bills to me, but the way the frit exchanges are run, you ALWAYS end up with a larger selection than you sent in. You're also welcome to stop by with prior arrangements and try out any of the colors I have. ;)
Hugs to all!

OMG! I love you for this! Thank you so much.
Not only can I now see what it's supposed to look like but I can see what it'll look like when *I* burn the crap out of it  If it passes the burn the crap out of it test it's a winner.
BIG BIG thanks for you taking the time to do this :)

awesome chart, thanks, did i miss a spiral dance chart?? if so is there a way to still get it??

Nope--if you click the "needed" link on Kay's site--you'll see that she's got "spiral dance" listed as "I have not tried any of these blends" which means she NEEDS a teaspoonfull (yep, just a teaspoonfull!) of each blend, to do her bead sets to make up that chart!
(I've got a few...maybe 5? but I think a couple *might* be discontinued--I got 1oz samplers back when Susan first opened spiraldance & had maybe 12 blends on the site )
So...that chart will get done "quicker" if peeps *with* those blends each send Kay a teaspoonful (yep, a teaspoonful) in a baggie, with the LABLE CLEARLY WRITTEN ON IT of vendor & blend color name!! (nothing worse than a mystery frit!!)
:D

(anything on Kay's site in YELLOW she DOESN'T HAVE YET. blue she's got!
if you've got something in "soft glass" she doesn't have listed *at all*, she needs that too!)

Ooooh, Kay--you might want to add a *separate* section for GGGlass's new 104 frit blends....she's added those recently! (so now she's got the ~96 blends AND a selection of 104 blends for those of us who want to "load it on w/o concern for compatability"!!)
