The National hand torches (3A/Bs) are essentially welding/brazing torches. They seemed to have been the standard for boro sculpture from all the older videos I have been watching.

one of the things i like about them is their inexpensive availability.. i find them at flea mkts and yard sales for $25. to $75., torch ,regulater and hoses, which i sell at my cost to people who have taken a class with me, ..it is a great inexpensive way to get started.. once you become ireedeemably addicted to the act of coaxing glass into little miracles of form and colors you can get bigger and better toys
