All that glitters is not gold!!
Formed from intense heat and colorful rods, a sparkling array of uniquely designed glass art will be offered for sale at Glass Galore, the 7th annual show presented by the St. Louis Lampworkers Society (SLLS). From humorous to most delicate, the talented members of the society will be displaying a wide variety of glass beads, jewelry and glass art, all made using the ancient technique of lampworking. In addition to the artists, there will be jewelry and lampwork suppliers, a video demonstrating lampworking and sign up sheets for classes.
Glass Galore will take place from 10:00am to 5:00pm on September 29, 2007 at the Kirkwood Community Center, 111 S. Geyer Rd., Kirkwood, MO 63122. The $2.00 admission fee for ages 12 and over will be donated in its entirety to St. Martha’s Hall, a shelter for abused women and children.
Graciously sponsoring this event are The Fun House (http://www.funhouseschool.com), beadmaking and jewelry classes “for the fun of it”; Glasshopper Studio (http://glasshopperstudio.com/), offering fusing and lampworking supplies in addition to various classes related to jewelry design; Phoenix Art Supplies (http://www.phoenixartsupplies.com), specialty supplies for glass artists including vintage glass and presses; and The Beadpen Group (http://www.beadpens.com), manufacturer and supplier of patented high-quality bead pens.
