I really wanted to upgrade to a phantom but I think thats now out of my reach... I was just wondering if there is any powere difference between a beth barra and the midrange I am on now????
So at full power is the barra much hotter or wider flame?

What about the centre flame in comparison to a minor? I have noticed the flame is really narrow? Is it that much narrower than the minor?
I like that the barra can get a pinpoint flame.

So is it worth upgrading to a barra or are the barracudas only slightly more powerful and I should wait 12 months or so till I can afford a phantom.

thanks

The Barracuda is colder and takes more oxygen to run. Having an inner and outer fire is nice, but you would be taking a step down in heat. I worked on a Bethlehem Tiger Shark (next step up from Barracuda) and its heat was comparable to my MidRange.

Have you considered the Knight Bullet? It's a LOT of torch for the money, and it's $200 cheaper than the Barracuda. Much hotter as well.

Hmmm my experience moving from a Midrange to a Barracuda was just the opposite... I definitely get more heat from my Barracuda than I did from my Midrange... gotta turn the fuel pressure down to get it, though. The center flame is about the same width as a Minor, but hotter.

Nonetheless, I'd recommend a Bullet as well, especially with the latest hijinks/price increase from Bethlehem.
