I've had my Mini CC for several months now and, although I don't get to torch very much, I want to clean it. I understand there is a brush? I don't have one. Where can I get one? and how do you clean a torch anyway?

I didn't get a brush or wire with mine either. So I contacted Carlisle and they sent me a PDF copy of the instruction sheet that I received with the torch and basically said that they don't include wires for cleaning. If you want the PDF, PM me your email and I can forward it to you. If you still have your instructions that came with the torch, it's exactly the same.

Anyway after rereading the instruction pages, my DH found some copper wire in his junk drawers that was tiny enough and stiff enough to scrub the ports (the holes in the front of the torch). He found some carbon build-up but not much. This was about a year after we'd set-up the torch but I only torch a couple of times a week and less during the summers. Oh and I'm using natural gas which may have less of a build-up than propane. It did help to clean out the ports though.

what you want for cleaning your torch are torch tip cleaners. They are available at welding supply stores and are a common item. Start with the smaller cleaner and work your way up to the port size.

Be careful using copper and silver wire for cleaning your torch as these wires can break off inside the torch and then you are in a real pickle.

Donna,
They were hard to find, and I had to ask the clerk for them. I hope you get some.

FWIW I bought mine at a welding supply shop for practically nothing. Since I don't remember what they cost it had to be cheap. LOL!

Thanks Everyone!

I found them at Home Depot and they worked great! So now my torch is all clean!:waving:
