Anyone know where to get one of those plates you use a computer fan to suck down and hold silver leaf??
Anyone know what the heck I am talking about?!?!?!?
I remember that subject coming up, and I remember someone showing how you could make your own. What I DON'T remember is how to find that post! Wait, here it is - and you started it, so I don't think this is going to help you too much!

LOL, yup I did start that thread!
I tried beeswax and it works ok but I have beeswax stuck to my marver with silver stuck in it
I want a suck box and I do not want to have to make it :-D
Anyone wanna make me one?!?!?!?!?!?!
I will pay for it, who knows, this could be an untapped market...

Wow, you are really leaving yourself wide open there! :-D
I KNOW I saw someting like that. It was a short, black, rectangular box with a mesh thingy on top. I'm thinking it had a slide switch on it to turn it on or off! (LOL, if it didn't it should have!) MUST...DO...MEMORY...EXERCISES...

I just found a cpu cooling fan in my junk drawer. Never tried to run it on battery before but I will try it tonight. Will let you know tomorrow.

Sorry, it was busy weekend but here is my first appempt to make the SLSPT ver. 1.0.
I used CPU cooling fan and heavy duty aluminium foil  just to see if it really works. And it really worked for me, so the pictures following...

1st pic is gold leaf and SLSPT.
2nd, SLSPT is picking up the leaf, nice and clean.
3rd pic, gold leaf is kind of stuck on the SLSPT and not gonna go anywhere until you pick it up with hot glass. \\:D/
I'm going to get some piece of metal to replace the aluminum foil and some kind of housing for the battery. But the foil works for me at the moment.

I used 9V battery. CPU fan usually gets 12V from the motherboard but 9V works fine too. Little bit less powerful but I think it's better for this case.
Nicole, after I revise this (casing and stuff like that to make this pretty) I can send you one if you want. I have another cooling fan sitting around in my drawer.

Hi
This is so cool.\\:D/ Do you just twist the wires from the fan to the Battery? I've gota couple of PC fans hangin around. I have been leary of useing the leaf because it just sticks to everything!

Yes, that's what I did. But I think I can get a housing (with switch) for the battery from a hobby store so I don't need to wrap and unwrap the wire all the time.
