I just got my minor today and am scared to set it up. :-({|= Been on a Hothead a long time and this looks like it's going to be something I study on awhile..but that's another story. I also purchased a torch mounted marver, but I haven't a clue where I'm suppose to put it. Does anyone have a picture of a minor with the marver mounted on it? I would really appreciate a peek. I can figure it out if I see it.

Thank You,

Thanks Malcom. I have the kind in the first picture. According to your second picture, I have my torch mounted incorrectly to the base. Wonder what else I'll do wrong without knowing it.

While Nortel mounts the Minor on the base this way, there's nothing to say you can't turn yours around, if it works better for your application. There is a torch selling on eBay where someone took a Minor burner, stripped it of the base and round heatsink, and mounted it on the side of a Major burner with a hose clamp. Whatever works for you. :)

Now that's an interesting marver Malcolm. That looks like it might even work on my Piranha. I haven't found a torch mounted marver yet that will fit...

The steel marver shown above was designed by long-time lampworker Bill Rasmussen. He makes two versions: one for the Minor, and one for the Lynx, Bobcat, or Cheetah. This second style has a longer mounting bracket.

Because of the tapered body, the Piranha is going to be difficult to fit with the standard 'clamp around the body' marver. I suspect that you're going to have to 'adapt' something to work with it.
