I bought my first large mandrel (3/4"...I think..) and gave it a try for the first time this morning. It's still in the kiln so I haven't seen the end result.

Do any of you have a tips or suggestions about using a large mandrel? Do you make a double, side-by-side base and then add to the top? Is there a tip for not having rough edges around the inside hole?

ANY tips would be most interesting to hear...

Thanks very much!

I start with a one rod wdth lay down line. If I want it thicker, I tend to marver that as evenly as I can- that gives me a nice rounded edge on most of them

I love BHBs!
