OK...I know I've read that "glass wants to be round" but how come mine wants to be a donut??? Grrrr....

Try making 2 spacers very close together and then melting them into each other and that should make a round bead!

Either work glass hotter, or hold end of mandrel down so glass tends to sag along mandrel, making for a wider "footprint" on mandrel... To get round bead footprint on mandrel has to be (approximately) equal to finished diameter of bead.

You could also try making a thick barrel with one extra row in the middle, I get perfect round beads this way ( I discovered that by accident when I was making puffy pillow beads, that is the initial shape I start with before pressing;))
