This is probably old news to you guys and alot of you might even have them, but I just read a tutorial by Sandra Saylor Seaman and in it she said her favorite lentil shaper is a pair of Oneida ice tongs from Target. Wwwweeelllll, I went to Target and about two dozen other places, then came home and search the web for them and I can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know where I can get some? I love the shape of the bead in her tutorial, which BTW is also beautiful!!
Thanks!

My local Target didn't have them either. Some people have luck at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I didn't, but some people do. :-P I think Jamey Lynn at www.howacoglass.com had them on her site, but I'm not sure.

You can get some with the bucket. Is this this the shape you are looking for?

I didn't have any luck at Bed, Bath & Beyond either. I did find a set with a cork screw, tongs that kinda looked like they might be these and some other stuff. I just didn't want to have to pay for the whole set when I only need the tongs. Especially when I wan't even sure they were the ones. I've never actually seen them, so I'm not positive, but I don't think they have the teeth around the edge - I think they're just smooth.
I just went to Jamey Lynn's site and those are just like the ones in the set I saw at BB & B, but they're out of stock!! Sounded like she only had a limited supply. Maybe she'd be willing to share where she found them?

Can you post a link to the tutorial by Sandra Saylor Seaman you read?
It's in the Nov-Dec issue of Step by Step Beads. I looked on their web site but couldn't find it, maybe because it isn't a back issue yet. It's on a beautiful lentil shaped bead with blues, copper green and silver leaf.

This is ironic...I took a private class with Sandy last month and have been searching for those tongs ever since! If you find them at a national chain, please share!! (Oh, and they didn't have teeth, were smooth, and I'm not positve they were made by Oneida.)

I have tried the ice tongs, and didn't like them. I use a lentil marver, and it seems to work better, for me. You don't get the sharp edges that you do with a press.

She stated in the tutorial that they were Oneida (that's the only way I know). I did get some off Ebay yesterday, the seller was "wikpm" I think. I looked all over for these things. Couldn't find 'em - I don't know if they've been discontinued or what.
If these don't work out, I'm getting some Tapley's. I just thought since I'm pretty new, I'd try the cheaper alternative first. Plus I love the flat shape of the bead in her tutorial. Where did you take a class with her?
Hope you can find some!

Sandy offers classes in her home near Reading, PA. She was very laid back and a pleasure to work with.

Sorry about that but I saw that on ebay and the seller had only one. So I couldn't give the link to the world since Vicki was asking first.
