Rust color?

I had a rather bizarre color combo request one of which is rust. I was thinking 448 for a rust color. Any other suggestions?

We're having a "chestnut" discussion in the garage sale area- I posted pics of some of the Moretti colors in that color range- though I don't have red roof tile. spec lt brn looks pretty "rusty" to me- I have extra.

Thanks Julz, I was reading that. I have about 1/2 lb of the light and dark and they're not quite right so I did a little mixing. About 2 inches of mustard, an inch of 260, 448 (very thin rod), and striking trans red made a color that looks very similar to RRT. I think anyway, I've only seen RRT on a monitor. Trying it out today and mixing some more combos.

Oooh, you're good! I love to create colors, but I haven't tried it in glass... how do you keep it all molten so it blends- or do you use a modified twistie/stringer approach?

LOL! Not good, just desperate! :lol: I use 1/8" mandrels to mix it up. Pick up the biggest piece with pliers and warm a bit, get the end hot while getting the mandrel glowing and smoosh it on there. Warm it so nothing explodes (hopefully) and add the other bits of color, attach the second red hot mandrel and twirl and smoosh and smoosh and twirl. I've never gotten much more than thick stringer, but it's fun to do anyway some days. Now if only I could be better at writing the mixes down.....
Somebody has an amazing color mixing chart...Cauldron Creations? I don't know for sure but I think the link is in the Games section...something about a color mixing thread a month or two ago.
