This week I have been able to try a couple of rods of new 104 clear. I loved it!! Arrow Springs worked with Kugler to develop a new crystal clear. It is wonderful!
The glass has the same consistency of the Moretti transparents, but with no scum. I love the viscosity; it is so easy to work with. Since the COE is 104 I have had no compatibility issues. I have made lightly encased beads, heavy encased beads and have encased all of the tricky greens – so far this stuff is PERFECT!
The clear Italian glass of the past few years has been disappointing at best. I am so excited we will finally have a clear that is clear!

Thanks for the info, Jiley :-)

Did you happen to try encasing silver foil or wire with this glass? I would be curious if the silver stayed silver or turned gold. I use clear Moretti to keep silver from turning gold - Vetrofond as well as Lauscha does not work. It would be nice to have another choice for this purpose

Thanks Jiley! I'd heard that this was coming, so have been watching for it. I'm close to AS, so I just ran up to get some to try it out.

It looks great! Nice clear rods with few bubbles.

In case it matters to anyone, the smallest rods are 8-9mm, and I think they had up to about 13-14mm. The rods are 20" long.

Today was going to be a Gaffer day, but I may have to melt this instead!

Here is a test bead I made with the Kugler clear yesterday. It's about 10x14mm. (Sorry for the bad picture of the clear bead. I'm still working on that part  ) I also encased another Moretti bead. The core of the bead is uneven (deliberately), so there are some areas of encasing that are thicker than others.

Looks great!

Wowsers, you guys! I just played with this glass all morning , encased two large florals- LIKE BUTTAH! Really nice, smooth consistancy, no boiling, no scumming, prefers graphite to stainless steel tools (for me anyways), just lovely! MUST>>>>HAVE>>>>MORE!!!!!!! Thanks Craig!

If you go to Arrow Springs website, you can get exact prices, but I can tell you it is on sale right now, $15+change per lb, will be $19+change thereafter per lb. The smallest size rod they have is 8-9mm.
