View Full Interactive Version Of This Page : Pretty, shiny thingie!
We brought this test piece from last night's hot shop session home today, and I can't stop touching it and looking at it. It's just a "test glob", but I think it's really pretty :-)

I like *test globs* hehe

It's gorgeous. What the hell is it?
Courtney
It's an orange-sized gather of clear (System 96) from the furnace that's been plunged into an optic mold. My special powder was sprinkled over it... heavily... then into the glory hole to melt it in.
I always tell EVERYTHING, but the powder is something proprietary that no one else has yet. So for now, that's all I can say.
It sure is purty though, isn't it?

its pixiedust ( fits your name tink:D)
No not the pixiedust everybody can buy, but TInkerbells magic pixie dust:D)
LOL! So true!
I don't have anywhere I have to go today, my studio is sparkly clean, and I can torch all day if I want. Weeeeee! I'm going to try some beads and vessels with this today. I'll keep you posted.
Gorgeous glob Tink!
Might I suggest:
'Tinkle Dust'

Tinkle Dust - sounds like dried pee to me! Of course, if dried pee could do that we'd all start using it right away!
Courtney
Ok. Maybe I'll stick with Magic Tink Dust. LOL!

How about Tink's Faerie Dust? I think I might... MIGHT... make a wee bit of this available to people, in the interest of research and planning. Dunno yet. I won't even tell you what I've gone through over the past 18 months to get this. LOL!

Our little Courteney is coming out of her shell. LMAO She gets freaky when she thinks I'm not looking, but my eyes are planted firmly through her windows. Got new night vision goggles and everything.

In that case, you already know that I'm still wearing my Charmin "Big Squeeze" jammies and my new favorite do-rag.

Girl, toilet paper stuck to your foot does not qualify as jammies. Go put some damned clothes on! It's 1:00 in the afternoon!

That new do is sexay.
Rebekah, you crack me up. LOL!

Wow - the blob is cool! It looks like texturized silver. And the swinging bead looks almost looks like stone. That's some cool, multi-purpose mystery dust!
I sure have gotten a lot of emails and PMs about this. Let me give it some thought.

Ok, I'm going to guess... is it silver nitrate?

Well, leave it to Tink to be the only one to obtain it.
Melinda
OMG She got it! And I like that name even better than Faerie Dust. LOL!
So here's the deal: I only have a few ounces of this that I'm willing to part with right now. It is *not* inexpensive. However, a little does go a very long way. If anyone is interested, I'll put about 1/2 oz in a Ziplock for you in exchange for $10, which includes shipping. Nothing fancy: Just First Class Mail in an envelope, or Airmail Letter for overseas.
Just email me (tink@blackswampglassworks.com) and I'll send you an invoice. No PMs please, as they are too annoying to keep track of.
Offer good until it's gone OR UNTIL I GO TO BED TONIGHT: The rest of my week is really busy and I won't have time to stay on top of requests. And if my source was yanking my chain when he said "I can get you some more soon", I will have to hurt someone. At least I *think* that's what he said. He has a pretty thick accent.

Me too!! *grins*
So here's some tips about working with this stuff...
It's like a sticky powder. For those of you familiar with cockatoos, it's like cockatoo dust. LOL! You can sift it on, or roll your piece in it. I have tested it with Bullseye, Uroboros (System 96), Lauscha and Effetre. Gently melt it in, using an oxygen rich flame. At that point, you can play with reducing it: For that, use a bushy, not-quite-yellow flame. I've found that I like the effect no matter what I do to it.
Play. Enjoy. Explore.
I love the name Unobtanium. Hmmmm....
I want some Tink's Faerie Dust too. \\:D/
Emailed you for an invoice! :)

so funny...I asked for some before I knew what to use it with.....course as many different types of glass I have, it had to work with one of them......
now tell me this isn't a sickness.
John just reminded me that Glass Alchemy has a color called Unobtanium. I guess we'll stick with Tink's Magic Faerie Dust or something. LOL!

Tink, are there any safety precautions, above standard (whatever that is) ventilation?
~~Mary
Standard safety precautions as related to using glass powders or enamels.
Excellent Tink, tank you berry much.

I have been pimping Tink's Fairie Dust.
Just happened to mention what I had bought the other day in a thread, and next thing I knew, everyone came back to tell me they had just e-mailed you and bought some.
So should I change my sig line to "Tink's Pimp"? Bawahahahahaha
Heheheheh!!!! Now I gotta get yo a pimp hat! LOL!
Tink, Just wondering if you've mailed my dust yet. I still haven't received it.
Just wanting to make sure mail man didn't mess up again with delivery.
Nope. No dust has gone out yet. Jeanne came and shipped vessels and beads on Monday, and I'm teaching John to do shipping and stuff this week. At this week's peak, I had 87 packages in the queue :-)
I keep updates about shipping on this page (http://www.blackswampglassworks.com/latest.htm), so folks know what's going on. Sorry I'm slower than usual right now. Just a lot more going on than normal, and at a slower pace.
I almost forgot to mention: I send EVERYTHING with delivery confirmation. When I ship to you, you will receive two emails: One from Stamps.com with your tracking number, and one from me.
