Holding Fingers

I am looking at getting holding fingers. My choice is small, med, large, or x-large. Anyone have any thoughts on which one is the best one to start off with.
I would be using it for marbles and playing around with some tube. :) thanks!!

The ones you don't have to tighten with the screw. There are some with a sliding release -- I have the medium size one with the screw, and the size is good so far. Lana

ya the ones that i am looking at where i am placing an order don't have the screw thing. i believe it is just a sliding thing.... i am not sure how it works exactly...
med is what i have been thinking... just not sure about tube holding...

I just bought some hot fingers from Arrow Springs. I couldn't decide which size I wanted, so I got the small and the large. They have the slidy thing, which moves very easily by just manipulating it with your thumb, so you can hold it in your fist with your thumb on the slidy thing and open and close those fingers to your heart's content.

The small closes down to nearly nothing, and opens to close to 1". The large closes down to about nothing as well, and opens to maybe slightly over 2" (?) I'm just eyeballing here, so take those with a little grain of salt. =)

If you wanted to do smaller marbles and smaller tubing, a medium should work well for you. I might be tempted to go with the large depending on the tubing you wanted to play with in the future.

Arrow springs catalog says the small goes to 3/4", large to 2", medium to 1 1/2". They're all the same price, and all go down to nearly nothing. The smaller ones are just more delicate....

i ended up getting the med ones, and they came in today and i really like them.. :)
i can see where the smaller and larger ones have their uses as well....
but then again i am a tool and book junkie as well so i can see one more at least in the future LOL.....

The ones with the screw work much better. They lock down more securely.

Get the largest pair you can find. All of them will close down to hold very small things, but not all of them will open as wide as you may need them to open.
