I'm shaping challenged. I can make donut shaped beads consistently, but anything else just doesn't seem to work. And I've hit a stage of working where I hate to make something that I know from the start isn't going to be sellable at all. Which makes PPP hard to motivate myself to do.

Anyway, yesterday I had a small bit left on my oxygen tank. I went out to use it up, and found myself watching the regulator constantly. It's a personal issue, I hate to use up *all* of something, too.

So, I was getting nowhere. Then I saw this pile of a bad clear I have. And thought that maybe I could use some of that up and try to figure out how to do things.....and then I added in a personal frit blend that's pretty gross that I made up, and then an commercial one that just isn't my style too much. Since I was never going to use those things for stuff I planned to sell, then I'm not wasting it! And if anything turns out good enough, then it can go in a grab bag or be a bead on a chain for the ren faire.

And I made bicones!! They're not great, and I'll try to post pictures later today, but I *did* it. The hard part for me was shaping the top half of it...I could do the bottom half with no problem, but the top was a real challenge.

Some have pointy ends, most have halfway decent ends. A couple look like they'd stand up on their own (haven't pulled them off the mandrels yet). And I'm so proud of them I could spit, LOL.

Bicones and teardrops are the #1 reason why I make beads in the middle of the mandrel instead of the end. The added control is amazing.
