View Full Interactive Version Of This Page : River Rock question
Whenever I try and use Raku frit on River Rock, most of the area around the frit turns jet black. Anyone else have this problem? Don't mind a little reaction, but it literally takes over the bead. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks!

that will happen on most of the ivory base colors - the way around it is to either use tiny frit or a rod- the tiny frit won't color as much, the rod will leave larger lines because of the larger surface- bit won't take over the bead.
To avoid altogether- try encasing your rivery rock first, then using raku

Jessica-
Thanks for the tip on encasing. Perhaps I will try that. I know that with all of my other ivory-type glass, I never have this strong of a reaction.
