I'm pretty new to lampworking and just recieved some glass I'd ordered. Some of the copper green rods have these black streaks on them. Is this normal?

Also, what's the best moretti color to use for khaki? I've used avocado green and liked it pretty well, but they were out when I ordered. How close is sage green?

Thanks.

Black is normal on CG. You don't want to work it too much or it will devitrify...it's a close cousin of evil purple.

I can't help with the other question, but I'm sure someone will :D

I haven't used my sage green, but the rod I have is transparent, a pleasant color of green green. I used Mosaic green last night for the first time- it is transparent at first then changes to opaque malachite. Sorry, but it was not the desired effect.

My sugggestion, do not be fooled by color names- either visit a site that shows you what it does, or get a single rod to play with if you can. That is why I like samplers. :)

I think that Sage Green opaque look more like beige depending on the batch you'll get (since it's an handmade color) .
Well, at least, I have both here, I've worked with both and I'm always using Avocado when I wanna have Khaki.
I hope this will help! :)

Sage green opaque is a warmer colour than avocado. Avocado has more of a green tint to it. They're very close, but if you were to do a side by side, you'd see more green in the avocado.

My Renaissance beads use sage green- I'll attach a pic.
