Does anyone know? I'm sure someone does. We just got our regulator connected to a 1lb. cannister. Is it supposed to be 5?

Thanks guys,
Sam

Generally its a practice to have your propane pressure about 1/2 the pressure of your oxygen... If you are running a concentrator, your oxygen pressure will be about 7-8psi so your propane pressure should be about 4psi...

These are not hard and fast rules just a pretty common starting point. You may find a combination of slight different pressures will work better for you.
You can probably go all the way down to about 1/2 psi on propane and torch will still function reasonably well.

The pressure ratio is also applicable to tanked oxygen if that is what you are using.

Thanks Dale. I appreciate it. I searched and searched for hard answers but finally had to break down and ask.

Have a great night or eh... morning.

What kind of regulator do you use or what kind of 1 lb cannister are you using ?

I ask because I read this post and tried it and my regulator for 20 lb propane tank will not connect to either a 2 lb prrpane cannister or 1 lb mapp cannister that you buy at your local home depot.

I believe "Sam" is using a standard adjustable regulator and a "Steak Saver"...

It's a device to adapt the standard CGA-510 connector found on fixed (BBQ style) or adjustable regulators to the 1x20 screw connector on disposable canister.
