Hi everyone,
I am curious about how long they last. Mine is the long one (12') and I've had it hooked on a 30# propylene tank for about 8 months. The rubber washer is dead (as in, reduced to a 1/16th" shred) and needs to be replaced (not that I 've forced the connection with a wrench or anything, I know brass is soft and I was careful not to damage the threading).
As for the hose itself, I haven't noticed any change with it, I don't know if it gets better with time or worse?
Do you know where I can find that replacement washer (it's the round, fat style)? Or should I just buy a new hose?
Thank you for your suggestions!

As long as hose is soft and pliable and does not show cracking or checking or deterioration or any leaking it is probably good.....
I cut into a 4 year old hose for a article on hoses only to find after four years it was perfectly good... This does not mean all hoses are of same quality or will have that long a lifespan but that is like anything in life today... IT will probably tell you when its time is up...
If in doubt replace it..

I have a hose issue :) Maybe someone can help...I use bulk propylene with my HH. The hose has a slightly yellowed thick oily substance on the outside at it's lowest point. I took it apart only to find it was gunked up on the inside too, so I bought a new hose. New problem, can't find the same fitting to replace what was attaching my hose to the HH end. What's on there now is threaded at the HH end with a crimp attached to the hose end (which is why I can't reuse it). My husband doesn't remember where he bought it from, and we can't find another. Any suggestion where to go from here?

Floche--I replaced the rubber o-ring in mine with one from the local true value--cost me I think 65 cents plus tax. I bought a couple extras so I'd have 'em on hand. I think it just got icky from the weather, or normal wear--after all, that's the one part that actually gets compressed & such every time I attach/detach the hose to & from the tank. (plus, if I can lose something, it will be the one tiny piece I absolutely need & it will happen on a holiday, or after 5pm, or when normal places to get them are closed!)
