I keep seeing some of you guys using the DH glass like kronos, gaia, terra,
what I don't understand is, are these colors a rod of glass with alot of different colors swirled into it? And you are surprised to see how the colors come out when you been is done? Does that make sense? I mean as opposed to just being one color like a blue rod for example that is just blue?
Thanks

The DH glass (and R4 glass, and basically all of the "silver colors" glass) usually appear to be a solid color. (For example, Kronos appears to be a regular transparant cobalt blue, which can be trouble if you don't have it marked. Don't ask me how I know LOL)

But the rods actually have a lot of silver mixed into the formula, and when used correctly (most of them need a quick flash through a propane rich flame), they change. Some change color, some get an iridescent finish.

Here's a thread where someone asked for the striking information. This will help further.
