Hi,

I just wanted to mention that I had a chance to use a new bead release at AS this past weekend during Andrea Guarino's class, and it was fantastic! It's called Dip-N-Go Sludge. You can dip your mandrel and dry it in the flame and start your bead. I make big beads and do alot of manipulation of the glass, so I need a release that will take a lot of abuse. The problem is that I also have tendonitis, so need something that I can actually get off the mandrel. ;) I haven't been able to use Sludge or Sludge Plus because of this, but this was great! It held up well to pulling and mashing on the glass, but still came off easily.

That sounds good! I've been planning to order from Arrow Springs anyway (I'll check again to see if they've restocked their graphite tools...) and had been looking at Sludge Plus... but this new Dip 'n Go sounds great! I'd been coveting the Bucket 'o Mud but the shipping to Winnipeg was too high for ordering just one thing from a supplier... This sounds like a much better solution. Thanks for posting the review, Toni!

I too have been using the Dip-N-Go bead release since the class at Arrow Springs last week. All of the students were given a sample jar (thank you, Craig) and I LOVE IT! It is so easy to just dip each mandrel before you make a bead, flame dry it for a few seconds, and you are ready to go! And Toni is right, your beads come off the mandrels very easily - no more yanking and twisting with the pliers - just one easy pull.
