Well, I was hoping that Terra would rock. I just purchased some of the Terra frit and some Terra rock size frit. I pulled it into stringer and tried it on some beads. Got some beautiful colors and put them into the kiln. Well, they all come out brown. What am I doing wrong? Can you all help me? Any and all suggestions welcome.
Thanks, Sharon

Sharon your kiln is too hot and is killing your Terra. There are a couple of threads about it but you need to lower your kiln temp to at least 940. Do a test bead and if it still goes brown lower it another 20 degrees and try again. I have a program for Terra that garages at 890 degrees.

Also, make them at the end of your bead session, they don't seem to like to soak for long

You guys crack me up. Thanks for the info. I will get out my fact sheet and program my kiln for 890.
Thanks all, you are the best.

This is a for sure. I made some encased Terra last night, it was sooooooo purty; until I opened the door. I forgot to turn the kiln off and they soaked for 8 hours and did not come out as happy campers.

Ditto and I anneal at 860 in my Firefly and no more than an hour - Terra doesn't like to soak for long as everyone else said.
