I wondered if anyone else has been having this problem: Effetre light sky blue with a black "specks" in it. And these show up in the finished work. It's really ticking me off. This blue I got recently, and it's a little darker than my previous batch that I purchased 8 months ago. A nice color in the rod, but the black specks are awful.

I'm glad I only bought a pound of it (from Arrow Springs), but should I try Vetrofond? Is theirs nice?? I see that LBSupply has it.

I had to add: These specks are not the tiny dark red ones that you get if you work this too close to the the torch head (with the HH) or work it using a reduction flame. That's not what this is, and the red spots can be worked out with more oxy before you garage the bead away.

I read of this issue ages ago, and it was a bad batch. I don't remember more than that it was when I was still a beginner, so maybe 18 months or more?

Contact your vendor, it's a bad batch. I got some of it about a year ago and returned it.

Oh yeah...and I noticed that in some of these bubbles there were the black specks! I think I'm going to order some of Val's black size #00 frit and see what I can do there. Hmmm...maybe the beads won't be so bad, and I can always start them at 99 cents! LOL!

It was at least a year ago--I remember the threads about it!
