I got my Carlisle Mini CC Monday evening. Got it home, hooked it up, made 2 small beads. Then I couldn't torch yesterday--playdate required supervision. Kids! So today I got the full experience!

I cannot believe how QUIET this thing is! No more earphones with the IPOD. I could use the speakers. And not cranked.

And it is so hot! My first beads got pretty soupy really fast.

Thanks to everyone who walked me through this acquisition process. This is the best Christmas present I've ever gotten! lol

Question...do I still bleed the propane line like I did with my hot head? I mean, turn off the propane tank and let the flame burn out?

Anotehr question...my propane regulator is big and bulky with 2 dials. What are the two dials for? Am I going to ruin it taking it on and off the propane tank? I don't want to store it outside. But getting a wrench on the screw-in thingy seems pretty clumsy.

I bleed my gas and air lines always. Have fun and enjoy your new torch. Merry Christmas.

There are two dials on the regulator. One (the right one) tells you how much pressure is in your tank and the left one tells you what pressure your regulator is set to i.e. how much gas is going through to your torch.

I am ecstatic, Kat!! Seriously, this is the greatest! I've made a lot of beads. Have to clean them and get some pictures!

I always bleed my lines -- propane and O2.

I leave my propane regulator on the tank. I keep a big plastic ubbermaid-ish washtub upside-down over the tank-and-regulator to keep the worst of the weather off it.

My propane regulator is a single gauge model (pressure only), but I can't see that making any difference.
