Triangle beads...you know the ones...place dots on both shoulders (staggered) and melt. The dots SHOULD distort into triangles.
No matter what I do, my dots do not distort nearly enough.
I thought this was a fairly simple bead to make. Grrrr...
Any suggestions? Colors that work exceptionally well with this technique?
(Yes, I have Corina's book, read and re-read it, followed the step-by-step instructions and still no luck.)
Thanks for your help.

Im no expert but maybe try larger dots of glass? Sounds like you dont have enough?
Hope that helps
Jenny
I usd to have that problem. Then I made my dots obscenely huge and it worked perfectly... :-P
Yep, bigger dots. OR more dots. If you are doing four to a side, and have a problem making huge dots..then go five dots to a side and see if that helps.

I had the same problem. tried more dots, tried bigger dots. Turned out I needed HUGE dots. I had thought I had big dots and was sure there was a big issue I just wasn't grasping... went to 6 dots and 3 times larger than I'd ever made them before and voila it worked!! tried it with fewwer dots but ones as large as I could force myself to use and it worked again!! Seems that the nice small delicate dots I like so much just don't do this. ;) also seems that super thin stringer I like for dot work isn't great for these either. ;) good luck.

It also helps to have your dots more raised before you melt them in.
Melt them down, and if they don't look right, keep adding more glass to the centers of the dots. It takes a lot more glass than you think it would take.

Thanks for the input. I do tend to make everything on the small side. I'll try to fatten up my dots and see what happens.
Appreciate all the advice!

Whew! I'm glad someone asked about this because mine look like globs - I'm gonna try tonight! Thanks!

Make the transparant dots with a full size rod instead of a stringer. It helps with getting them big enough.
Encasing the bead also helps to pull out the triangles.
