Ok guys, I need some floral advice - I can make flowers - three petal, four petal, five petal etc., but now I need to make a carnation - it will be a red centered encased floral bead- but it has to have white carnations. How would you do it? I've got to make about 20 of these puppies! Thanks in advance for any advice!!

This is a good one Tami! I'll be watching to see if any ideas surface. Sorry I can't offer anything useful here. I did make something that turned out to look like somewhat of a carnation though. It started out as a flower / 4 petals / melt / 4 more petals / melt in. Then I decided to poke and twist. It was actually sort of pretty. Sorry no pic, the bracelet sold. Good luck girl!~

Barb,
that sounds like a good place to start! I will give it a try - I am hoping someone else will jump in with a wonderfully easy solutions (though I really doubt it!) Thanks again Barb!

Sorry, no help here. I'm interested to see what people come up with. I am florally challenged!

Maybe the implosion technique would work? I saw Moths tut and maybe that would work? Don't have time to try it tonight but I was just sitting here thinking that might work!

I'm going to give a carnation a try today (took awhile to find the time). I'll let you know the results tomorrow, maybe tonight.

I tried a couple today. They are annealing right now....they are flops as far as carnations go, but who knows what they will look like in the morning. I'm going to try and squeeze in some time in the morning and give it another go. I have a general idea it's just getting it to translate from my brain to the glass.

You are the best! I can't wait to see your experiments! If I could get some darn torch time, I might be able to try something!

My first two attempt were failures...but I will be at it again today. I will try to post pics of my failed attempts today. I know I can figure this out.....

Here is what I keep ending up with....a fluffy flower....Did you have any luck with the implosion method?
