Flower Petals

OK so I was in the gallery and saw floral beads posted by bousky on Wed S&T that are gorgeous. How in the world do you do those petals with the white edges? Is it a cane that is pulled or is it perfectly placed dots? I have tried white dots with transparent colored dots on top but I can never get them that perfect. Please tell me there is a trick that I can do!

They're made in the usual way. Place a white dot and melt it in. Then place a do of transparent on top and melt it in. The secret to white edges it to make the transparent dot a little smaller than usual so it doesn't cover all the white. It takes practice to get it right.
