i am new here and having really been using the tuts. i am a
self-taught lampworker and have never had any classes. i live in WV
and lampworking is not very popular here.

anyway, i have seen these beads that are what i think others are
calling organics. they are made from soft glass and look like they
might have some type of silver foil or frit on the base and then they
have what looks like a transparent on the outer layer that gives you
the illusion of looking "into" the bead. Usually these tranparent
dots are random, but they have a rim about them that looks different.
i am sort of rambling, but i was hoping to someone might be able to understand what i am talking about and help me figure out how to do this....maybe even post a picture.

thanks soo much for your help and with this forum.
it is a great asset for someone like me. thanks again :)

Its not hard ...All my beads are a mystery....

Actually you have the right idea, you make the base bead and wrap it in silver of gold foil or whatever color you want for dots then encase with clear....

Or even not clear. I get some of my best colors by encasing in a pale transparent color instead of clear.

I think Mendy is on the right track. To see one, go to this page here --> http://barleybeads.com/linkbeadssell3.htm <-- and hold your cursor over the fourth bead from the left, the one with the big red dot on it.

Is this what you mean? Michael Barley explored this technique extensively.

There are also detailed instructions on how to make that bead in Corina's booklet entitled 'Spotlight on Silver'. You can buy a copy (less than 20 dollars) from suppliers such as Jodel: http://www.jodelglass.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page19.html

Is this the bead technique you were looking for?
