Does anyone have a source for metal stamps? I am looking for the type with shapes and figures, not numbers and letters (that Roseanne and I have found). I found sets at Rio Grande, but they were very pricey. Even if I could buy a couple I would be a happy metalworker! :-D

Thanks!

Thanks Lynn! Late last night I opened a Thunderbird catalog I got at B&B and low and behold....stamps! They also had almost every item I was going to order from Rio Grande, for soldering, at a lower price. Bonus! Problem now is deciding which stamps to buy. So many choices.....

Check out the latest issue of Art Jewelry Magazine - May 2008 Issue #22 - www.artjewelrymag.com - it's got an article by Victoria Lansford on making your OWN metal stamps, using 6 mm Allen wrenches or extra-large nails as your tool stock. Very readable text, and it looks fairly easy to accomplish.

Rio Grande tool catalog. Oh silly me, you said that.

Tandy leather makes metal stamping tools to use on leather. I would think they would work in annealed soft silver and copper. They will certainly work on PMC and they have hundreds of them.
