New Tutorial - 3 beads, a button, a hollow and a 'V' shape

Hey all - I just posted the new tutorials for November / December. http://www.dawnandevan.com/tutorials.htm This one (actually 3) is called "3 Beads". There is a brief studio tour and then 3 tutorials/demos. A button on a button mandrel, a hollow bead on a hollow bead mandrel and a 'V' shaped bead on a triangle mandrel.

Make sure that you have the latest version of Macromedia's Flash loaded. It's a free download at www.macromedia.com (http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash)

After loading the player, close ALL browser windows and then come back and retry.

Two of them are now there but No.1 isn't there yet. The hollow one was very good. I haven't had time to view No.3 yet but No.1 is the one I really wanted to see. Making a button.

Hope - I just reformated the pages to put each one on a seperate page. The 1st one would show up but took several minutes to load because it is almost 3 times the size of the other two. Each one is now on it's own page and I changed the window size so that they should appear about twice as large as before.

I see that they are 2 separate mandrels making the v-shape, but I would think that it would be a little difficult getting them off one at a time. Is there a trick to it? Hi - Removing the 'V' shaped bead is actually much easier than it might seem. The two clips on the "T" portion of the handle have set screws, simply loosen them and the the entire "V" shape removes from the handle and then you can remove each of the legs from the bead independantly. Then you can either thread a cord through the legs (takes practice) or epoxy a wire loop in each leg and string through those loops.

Thw Video stops after every 2 minutes and it takes at least 10 min to go onto the next 2 min of showing. i left it on to see if it loading wbut it does not. and it keeps starting from the beginning. what is it that I need to do for it to run. This is a 1 year old computer eith plenty of space, but I run aol through the phoneline. no fast internet.

Katja - My guess as to the reason why it is stopping is you are not on a high speed link (most likely on a conventional analog modem). Video over an analog modem is a tough go. During the 10 min interval it is loading the next 2 minutes of video onto your machine. Here is a suggestion for you though that may help some...

Right click on the video window before you start to play the video. Select "Quality" and set that to low. Then Right click on the video screen again and select "Settings" and move the slider all the way to the right (see the attached picture.). Now when you go to play it may take quite a while for it to start, but once it does it should have buffered much more of the video to your local machine so it should not start and stop as much.

This doesn't substitute for a high speed connection but it should help some. The other alternative would be the DVD's that I have to offer. The upside to the DVD's is they will play in any DVD player and they are FULL SCREEN, not a window on your pc.
