Does anyone use the Over Torch Arm Rest?

http://www.generationsglass.com/Torch_Accessories.html

I stand at the torch (haven't sat down much in the last eleven years since becoming a Mom) and I've heard that this is a good one if you stand. Hhmmm, does anyone know if the Creation Station Butterfly works well for standing?

I'd love to hear any comments you may have! My arms need some rest :)

I was looking at that one but I think it's better suited for a sitter. Standing, I need something that's a bit higher. Unless the wrist/arm wrest things on the Creation Station can adjust higher. :???:

maybe you just need a taller table... (or risers)

Lol, I'm kinda short so I may have to look up to make a bead!

I'm short 5' 2". and to make it even harder my arms are short.I bought the creation station and after a few months of trying to get use to it I had to take the "butterfly" arm things off. It just held me out to far from the flame . I still have my torch on the rest of the thing and it makes a dandy clamp to hold the torch so it doesn't move around .

You can make an over the torch rest in no time with a couple of nails and a 2x4. May be crude, But as a test it will give you the feel. If it feels good then buy the metal one for the long run.

80 dollars?!?!?! sheesh

bricks stacked on either side of your torch, two strips of cement board over top as the bridge and a towel from the dollar store on top of that. If you have some cement board scraps around it'll run you about 10 bucks. No cement board? Maybe you're up to 30, but you can get a new work surface for your bench in the process.

We used one of those in a class I took. I thought it just got in the way. I wasn't a fan.

I love my creation station! But I also don't stand to make beads I sit all the time so it is well worth the money and a place to put my arms especially elbows. Makes things way more stable!

I am 5'2" with a tall bench so I stand. I also have thyroid issues so my hands shake like crazy. I have the butterfly station in order to steady my hands and I love it. A friend had gotten me interested in making beads and I don't use any support when I am at her house, so I have tried it both ways. I think it depends on what you get used to. I do have to say that since standing at my house, I can't sit at her house anymore!

I should have also said that I don't use the wooden elbow rest, just the metal arm rests.
