I've looked, and I know there are several threads on this matter but I am a tad confused, to say the least!

Last week I had a leak on my RV supply manufactured hose. So I purchased a new Mr Heater 12' hose.

I started torching today and was able to torch for about an hour and then the dragon flames started.

This is my setting. The BBQ tank is outside but not quite ground level but about 2 feet lower, my studio is about 3 steps up. The hose goes out the window. The tank is in the sun.

After the dragon flames I bled the line, it seems like it took quite a while for it to bleed but then again my old hose was 8 feet and this one is 12 feet so it should take longer to bleed.

I hung my hose to drain but nothing came out.

I've moved the tank to a shaded spot and I am waiting for it to cool down before I try it again.

I read conflicting information about whether to open the tank all the way or just somewhat. I also don't understand whether I should or should not try a regulator.

I am sorry if this is repetitive but I couldn't figure it out from all the posts, and particularly didn't think anyone of the threads had the same circumstances as my situation.

I will be shortly moving on to a minor with and oxy/con, but I still want to torch while I can get to that!

Hello Again,
I think I panicked too soon, those dragon flames are too scary!
After moving my tank to the shade and letting it cool off, problem solved!
........for now... :-)

Propane is temperature sensitive.... If tank temperature goes down, pressure goes down... If tank temperature goes up pressure goes up.... Quantity/quality of flame will be effected by pressure changes...

Did you hang your hose with the torch head on it and open?? This will allow everything to come out.
I am way to impatient for that.. I take a bit of rubbing alch. And pour it into the hose, then blow it all out with the air compressor untill what comes out is clean air! Works brillantly!!! I would also sugest cleaning your torch. Dragon flames can be very dangerous!!!
