View Full Interactive Version Of This Page : Etch All Dilema
I have a HUGE bottle of etch all I have been using with no problems, until now. It's seems to not be etching the whole bead but some spots stay clear? Does it go bad??
It seems to get depleted in strength over many uses. If you have etched alot of beads with it that's probably what has happened. It becomes really dark in color and stops working very well.
Get a new bottle.

Hey Nicker,
It can go bad, but I have a bottle that is several years old and very black. It still works fine. Are there any crystals in the bottom? If so, place the bottle in a pan of warm water and stir it gently (wear eye protection and gloves) until the crystals dissolve. If there aren't any crystals, then I don't know what to tell you. How old is the bottle??
It's maybe a year old and I don't etch that often. The crystal thing makes sense though, it seems to be clumpy if that makes any sense at all. I am going to try the warm water thing!

Sorry I forgot! The warm water seems to have mixed it up better. No more clumping.

Cool - Good to know, for what it costs in those big bottles! Thanks!!
