The color number is 266. You can get it at Frantz art glass, Arrow Springs, Moretti and More on ebay, and Jodel...just to name a few.

I got mine from Jodel - both light opal yellow, and the darker opal yellow.

This stuff is sooo "snappy". You can waste half a rod before you even get started. It's pretty, but it scares me.

If you are running an oxy-propane torch, you can gently heat up a shocky rod by turning on the propane full at the torch, NO OXY. Rotate the end of the rod in the bushy part of the propane flame. Yes, you will get a tiny bit of soot, but it will burn off later. Rotate as much of the rod as you can get into the flame. I keep in there for a litle bit (a minute??), then turn propane down, oxy on, adjust flame and you are off and running. Works for shocky handpulled colors and for rods that have been sitting in the cold cold studio. This hint courtesy of Roger Parramore.

I always request that the suppiler send me the smallest diameter rod they have. It cuts down on the waste, big time. OY is one of my favorite colors!

For Canadians Nortel in Toronto has it and the rods are so skiny right now that you can almost use them for stringers.... I get almost no shocking !
